craft

Made with hands we are proud to work beside.

In Bombay, much of our handwork and embroidery comes from a workshop whose owner employs and trains an all-women team in crafts rooted in their own traditions. The work gives each of them her own income and her own footing, independent of family or partners. Working with them is one of the privileges of running this brand.

In Delhi, our packaging and tote bags are cut and sewn by a team made up entirely of women, trained on the job, paid fairly and looked after at work.

Our natural fabrics are dyed and printed by hand in the Kangra valley. Our tomato leather is made in Bombay and finished in Chennai, and our coconut leather is made in Kerala.

The industry has a long habit of growing richer while the people doing its work stay underpaid. We chose to build without it.
